Cold snap

There was a "winter storm" on Thursday night, sleet and frozen rain and snow.  We're OK, both cars have new tires, and the house is fine.  It wasn't fun hacking off 2 inch thick chunks of snow and ice from the windscreen at 6am this morning.  My employer let us out early Thursday, as did Hubby's, and it took us 2 hours to get home (normally a fifteen to twenty minute drive).  Saturday is supposed to be warmer, temperatures above freezing.  In the mean time, handknit wool socks and Doc Marten boots are the order of the day.

If you took part in NaNoWriMo 2006 please go donate, especially if you won.  They made their fundraising goal for the year (on the last day of the month) but there are still libraries to build.  And St Louis beat Detroit in the Word War by a hundred thousand words!  Yay team!  See you at the TGIO party, weather permitting.
