Shiny!

Spinning silk is wonderful!  I'm hoping this is going to turn out as fingering weight.  There's no tension on my brake band and it's pulling in just enough.  I'm using the middle ratio on the Louet most of the time.  The unspun silk feels floppy and almost not there it's so light.  This is about half an ounce:

Silk bobbin.

Something odd happens when I'm pulling the roving apart into chunks: static!  Both ends flare out like anenomes.  Takes a while to calm it back down.  Silk is a lot of fun to spin, and it's easy to get thin singles.  I'm hoping what I've learned here will transfer to spinning wool.
