Happy Star Wars Day!
(May the Fourth Be With You…)
Maybe it’s because I’ve knit three pairs of socks this year. Maybe it’s because of the purple wrap I wore to Sehlat’s wedding. Maybe I’m going slightly mad. Whatever it is, the Forest Canopy shawl is calling. The pattern is excellent with both charts and written instructions, and also a discussion on gauge, needles, and yarn. It should end up looking like this:
I made the Prairie Shawl from Folk Shawls last year using heavy worsted yarn, and it just wasn’t me. Too heavy, too thick, too short, I gave it to a friend as a Christmas gift. Forest Canopy needs 350yds of fingering weight yarn, I’ll probably add a couple of repeats to make sure it’s long enough. Schaefer Anne looks like a nice yarn for this.
No more posts till after Maryland Sheep and Wool!
That is beautiful. I love the colouring. I am new to lace knitting. I’ve done 3 scarves and the swallowtail shawl from interweave knits from one skein of Sea Silk. This one looks similar. Are you using the same yarn? I’m thinking if I knit it it would have to be in the same or similar yarn or I would be disappointed.
