Project planning: Forest Canopy Shawl

Happy Star Wars Day!

(May the Fourth Be With You...)

Maybe it's because I've knit three pairs of socks this year.  Maybe it's because of the purple wrap I wore to Sehlat's wedding.  Maybe I'm going slightly mad.  Whatever it is, the Forest Canopy shawl is calling.  The pattern is excellent with both charts and written instructions, and also a discussion on gauge, needles, and yarn.  It should end up looking like this:

Forest Canopy shawl.

I made the Prairie Shawl from Folk Shawls last year using heavy worsted yarn, and it just wasn't me.  Too heavy, too thick, too short, I gave it to a friend as a Christmas gift.  Forest Canopy needs 350yds of fingering weight yarn, I'll probably add a couple of repeats to make sure it's long enough.  Schaefer Anne looks like a nice yarn for this.

No more posts till after Maryland Sheep and Wool!
