Bitten by the lace bug

Thanks for your encouraging comments about my lacewreck, I have recovered but there’s a lifeline going in every fourth row till the end. I love my lifeline! Started the third chart and the third skein of yarn, don’t think I’ll be needing the fourth. I have 28 rows to go and over a month to do them.

Almost had a falling down in the lace department of Myers House on Saturday, they had kitten-soft Malabrigo lace yarn, Fino from Alpaca with a Twist, and Lane Borgosesia. Now I just have to finish the Seraphim and find a suitable next project. Where do you find good patterns for a Faroese shawl?

  1. I took some button thread (sewing thread), and after a wrong-side row that I knew I had got right, I ran a needle through every stitch, leaving a good amount of thread on each side of the shawl. If I had to rip back, these stitches will be safe because of the thread through them.

  2. Sometimes, I wish I hadn’t sworn off Myers house. They did carry a few nice yarns. However, I refuse to give my business to a store where the employees are snotty and well, I was never treated nicely there. I’m sure it was just a bad day or 3 but I’m hard-headed like that.
