After the ball was over

After the ball was over, she took out her glass eye,

Put her false teeth in the water, hung up her wig to dry;

Placed her false arm on the table, laid her false leg on the chair;

Then what was left went to bye-byes, after the ball.

NaNoWriMo is over for another year. My story is almost done, and I hit the 50k goal. This was my fourth NaNo, and the most tiring of them all. I love the story though and I had a blast writing it. I’m going to print it out, check it for glaring errors and get a hard copy from Lulu. NaNoWriMo writers produced over a billion words of fiction that didn’t exist in October.

As the official Word Wrangler in charge of Word Wars against other regions, I am proud to report that St Louis region stomped the opposition in the nicest possible way:

Regional Word War graph.

The graph shows Friday morning figures for total output from the region, number of active writers, and average word count per active writer. The final figures aren’t out yet, but we have a commanding lead and Indy admitted defeat. G.R.O.W.L. rocks!

Update 4th December:

Final figures are in, and St Louis wins with more than four million words written in November!

  1. Sweet! That’s great to know that we… erm, okay, everyone else in the city *but* me, stomped the other regions. ;-p

    I barely started last year, this year I didn’t even attempt at all since I’ve got two other projects going on right now. Maybe I need to pretend like May or June is my NovelWritingMonth since both of my big projects reoccur every year in November?

    So, a big old WOOT to you on your book (*and* your cool purple socks)…
