Merry Christmas, and a Happy New Year!  I'm going offline for a few days.

I'm ending 2009 with a photo of Guildford Cathedral

It is the only brick cathedral in Britain, and probably the youngest cathedral, it was consecrated in 1961.  It stands on Stag Hill and overlooks the University of Surrey.  My first year dorm room, Wells 4/11 looked right at the golden angel on the spire.  No-one told me she was a weather-vane and I spent most of my first term thinking "I'm sure she wasn't facing that way this morning, must be imagining it".
