FO: Winter Carrot socks

Grey winter days require bright colours:

Winter Carrot socks.

Pattern: My own
Yarn: Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock in Carrot
Needles: US1.5 (2.5mm) magic loop
Duration: 16th December to 8th January
Ravelry project: Winter Carrot socks

The socks I make these days rarely follow a pattern, rather they're a mash-up of elements I like to use.  This pair starts with a provisional cast on toe, adds some cables and a gussetted heel, finishing up with a rolled top.  They're one of my longer pairs of socks.  The yarn has slight shading but looks solid from a distance, and it is exactly the shade of a fresh carrot.

I've never had orange socks before.  I have a purple pair planned, and a blue pair.  I want to wear the rainbow.
