Currently reading

This page is to keep track of books I’m reading, to ensure I don’t have six unfinished books in progress, and to remind me to finish the ones I’ve started. I’m always reading or re-reading something, the re-reads are in italic.

Everything under a month is a book that I finished reading that month, there is also a section for “did not finish” at the bottom of the page. I'll be updating on a StoryGraph page, see my 2023 in books. I'm stopping updates on GoodReads because of Amazon.

Previous years of books read.

Did not finish:
C.K. McDonnell, "The Stranger Times" (Stranger Times, #1)

  • Didn't like any of the characters

Thomas Erikson, "Surrounded by Idiots: The Four Types of Human Behavior and How to Effectively Communicate with Each in Business (and in Life)"

  • Stopped reading because the author decided to only use 'he/him' pronouns, neatly erasing non-males from the world. Couldn't get past the first 3 chapters without wanting to throw the book at author's head. From the introduction: "I know that you have enough imagination to insert a 'her' or a 'she' in your thoughts where this may be appropriate." Ugh!

Grant Faulkner, "The Art of Brevity: Crafting the Very Short Story"
Robert B. Cialdini, "Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion" (Work book club)
Simone St. James, "The Broken Girls" (Library book)
Paige Shelton, "The Cracked Spine" (Scottish Bookshop Mysteries #1)
Lora D Delwiche, Susan J Slaughter, "The Little SAS Book"
Ellery Adams, "The Secret, Book, & Scone Society" (Library book)
Elliott Hay, "A Bit of Murder Between Friends"
Chuck Wendig, "Wanderers" (Library book)
Bill Bryson, "Shakespeare: The World as Stage"
