Hashtable, Vector, Plastic Penguin
Staring at the screen wondering what on earth to do with my Hashtable
is not a productive way to code. Especially when I really need a Vector
, not a Hashtable
. Lots of tedious database code to write for Chronicle.
On the plus side, I'm programming a whole lot better than I was six months ago. Doing an explicit cast is routine, Hashtables
make sense, even inheritance seems normal.
The Plastic Penguin method of software bug fixing:
Call someone over and sit them down next to you. Explain exactly what the problem is. Get a blinding flash of the obvious. Fix bug. Thank the person for being there, even though a plastic penguin would have done just as well because they didn't need to say anything.
