Kiss of death
I have deleted all the files from the SourceForge page for Chronicle. I am going to finish the project, but there won't be any releases until it's actually functional. SourceForge is littered with good project ideas that never get past the planning stage, it is a kiss of death to a fledgling project. It almost killed mine stone dead.
True, the code was in the process of being gutted and rewritten, but even so, I want rid of the SourceForge thing. It's not like I was using their CVS anyway. I do have new code rewritten, and a darned good reason for getting on with writing the rest as of Thursday.
So the project is effectively dead, until I complete the version 1.0, which will rise, phoenix-like, from the ashes of the old SourceForge project site. Or maybe I'll just skip that and release on Freshmeat. I already have issues about whether to go for Java 1.3 or 1.4, and 1.3 just doesn't agree with this laptop. Chronicle is dead, long live Chronicle. I will finish it.
