State of the Knit
My knitting goals are to finish the Eris cardigan before autumn and make another fingering weight shawl this year, probably Sivia Harding's Waves in the Square. Ambitious goals, given my usual level of output. Lunchtimes are for knitting now the citizenship revision is over.
There needs to be a travelling project, and there need to be green socks in my wardrobe. Toxic, acid, alien, poke-you-in-the-eyes green. This is my first project with Lovesticks yarn, using her variegated BFL and I like it. Tried a single offset panel of Oriel lace from Sensational Knitted Socks, ripped it out, trying again with Fan lace from the same book.
I use the SKS book for pattern panels with my favourite heels, toes, and cuffs. Eris is not portable anymore, so I'll have to do a few rows a night until that's done. I'm working on the setup for the cabled hem, then all that's left is the sleeves. Those need some recalculating so they're not floppy and loose at the wrist. My Vintage Velvet scarf needs felting, which will be a trip to the Laundromat with a few pairs of jeans and a pillowcase. No felting in the shiny new washer and dryer for me! The fabric is very soft and slippery right now, so I'm hoping felting gives it a little more structure and stops it shedding.
State of the Spin coming up in the next post.
