Knitting

It's a hard decision:  Put the socks on hold and knit only the lace.  Lunchtime knitting will end when NaNoWriMo starts, it will be reduced to a bribe (get the daily two thousand words written and you can knit ten rows on the lace).  Faina's scarf

Finished two projects this weekend.  Presenting the Cuddle Toy: The embroidery isn't perfect, but I still like the pattern.  Managed to snap the yarn making one of the ears, and I still have about half a ball left. Finished this off at knitting morning in Borders cafe on

Faina is now half done, and I'm still using the first ball of yarn.  The yarn comes in 175m skeins, which I read as 175yds, a whole different (and much shorter) animal.  I need 450yds for the scarf.  I have three skeins which is 525m, or about 574yds.

Got a new Knit Picks catalog and a new Patternworks catalog recently.  Must resist temptation!  Why don't these places sell blocks of uninterrupted time to go with the yarn and patterns? Figured out why I seem to have so much yarn for Faina's scarf.  Pattern asked

I only got two rows of knitting done on my Prairie Shawl on Saturday, but I did teach Terri how to knit and purl, how to fix a dropped knit and purl stitch, how to recognise which is which, and a few different ways of holding needles and yarn.  She

The new Knitty is up!  Favourite patterns so far are the Samus jacket (love the cables!), Bubby the koala bear, and the Falling Leaves socks.  Now all I need is the time and yarn to knit them all, along with the rest of the stuff in the project queue.
